A Renaissance Faire is coming to Cherry Lane
The Idaho Renaissance Faire returns October 10 and 11, this year themed "Festival of Fools" and pulling from the Italian Renaissance. Costumed performers, vendors and — by popular demand — turkey legs take over 6054 W. Cherry Lane from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. Admission is free, costumes are welcome but not required, and proceeds support local artists and theater programs. Read more →
A recovery breakfast at City Hall
The Meridian Anti-Drug Coalition hosted its Recovery Day Breakfast this week for National Recovery Month, bringing people in recovery together with the community over coffee and conversation. The 19-acre park opened in 2002 next to the Bear Creek subdivision — which is where the name comes from — and packs in softball fields, a playground and a picnic shelter, plus a 9-hole disc golf course that only runs November through February, once summer leagues clear off the fields. A strange little scheduling quirk, and a good excuse to remember the park exists once it's cold enough to want to be outside anyway.
